GLACIER BAY NATIONAL MONUMENT, ALASKA
Spectacular view from a cruise ship of one of
the 16 huge active Tide Water Glaciers in this
fabulously scenic area. Glacier Bay is located
about 40 miles northwest of Juneau in the
rugged Fairweather Range of the St. Elias Moun-
tains. It's the largest National Monument in the
National Park System with 4,400 square miles.
Huge icebergs, cracked off the centuries old
vertical ice cliffs of the immense glaciers, dot
the waters of the numerous fjords. Snow-capped
peaks, lush forests and abundant wildlife com-
bine to make a cruise through Glacier Bay an
unforgettable scenic adventure.
