Additional Details:
Clovis was named by the daughter of a Santa Fe Railroad Official for the first Christian King of France and is the seat of Curry County. The town began in 1907 as Riley's Switch, a siding on the Santa Fe, but grew rapidly after the railroad brought its shops and warehouse here from Melrose. It is now a 4-way division point of the Santa Fe, a junction of U.S. Highways 60 - 70 - 84 (east- -west) and State Highway No. 18 (North - South). It has grown to a city of 27,000 friendly people that extend a WELCOME hand to you
