The Lawrence City Hall Complex was built in 1980. A plaque
on the front of city hall contains the phrase "We have tomor-
row bright before us like a flame." A sculpture by Lin Emery,
entitled "the Flame," was erected in 1982. (Appreciation to
the Lawrence City Managers office for their assistance.)
