The "Big Breakup" town. The tripod is frozen into
the ice. The big chance is guessing the time and day
that the ice will break and the water will flow. The
attached line stops the clock at the official breakup
time, which usually occurs in early May. Nenana is
situated at the confluence of the Nenana and Tanana
Rivers, originally an Indian village.
