| This "footpath in the wilderness" was built by the Green Mountain Club and was completed in 1931. It runs along the crest of the Green Mountains from Canada to Massachusetts. A distance of 255 miles. The Trail crosses the Green Mountains National Forest for a distance of about 80 miles. From it hikers can see examples of multiple use management of the recreation, water, wildlife and timber resources of the National Forest. Green Mountain National Forest. |
