MCCLELLAN GATE AT ARLINGTON. One of
the principal entrances to the cemetery is the McClellan Gate,
named after the first commander of the Army of the Potomac,
whose headquarters were for a long time located in Arlington
Mansion itself, a house just previously vacated by Gen.
Robt. E. Lee, and confiscated by the U. S. Government.
