Shag or Green Cormorant

British Sea-Birds Series 9231 Is in its winter dress of a beautiful lustrous green. In early spring it develops a crest on the head, for which reason it is also called the Crested Cormorant. The nest, a mass of seaweed plastered together, is placed in clefts and on edges of cliffs; the young birds when first hatched have no feathers and are quite blind.
