Hall 15
The Jumping Hare or Spring-haas, as it is called by
the Dutch colonists of South Africa, is the only repre-
sentative of a peculiar family of rodents not at all
related to the true hares. It lives in sandy or semi-arid
regions and has burrowing habits.
