THE ANGEL MORONI MONUMENT, a 40
foot bronze and granite shaft, erected atop Hill
Cumorah, near Palmyra, New York, in 1935 at a
cost of $35,000. Here in 1820 Joseph Smith
received from the Angel Moroni the “Golden Plates'
from which he translated the Book of Mormon.
