One of the most unusual attractions of the
Rocky Mountain region is the annual public
hike sponsored by the Boulder Chamber of
Commerce to the famous Arapaho Peak and
Glacier. This glacier which is the largest in
Colorado is owned by the City of Boulder;
thus, Boulder is the only city in America ac-
tually owning a glacier as its source of water
supply. The altitude of the glacier is 12,000
feet while Arapaho Peak rises to 13,500 feet.
