Dear Betsy Ruth,
Happy 10th birthday! I hope you have a most
wonderful time all day long and then one of the
happiest years you ever have known.
This is the famous christ of the Andes statue.
it stands 26' tall and is on the border between chile
and Argentine. it is made out of melted cannon from
both countries. i have been within 7 miles of it but
could get no further because of bad roads.
I think of you and sister, as well as mother and
Daddy quite often. It will be so good to see you all
when we get back home. That might be as soon as July
of 1957. I trust you are all well and as happy as
always.
