CITY HOSPITAL
The St. Louis City Hospital, established in 1844,
and expanded and modernized in 1941 at a cost
of $4,500,000, covers approximately five city blocks.
Among new buildings added in the expansion pro-
gram are the “butterfly" shaped Malcolm A. Bliss
Psychopathic Hospital, a 14-story ward building,
and various maintenance units. It has
capacity of 1104
