Alabama Power Company Building, northwest
corner of Sixth Ave., and 18th St., is 14 stories
high and is surmounted by a figure, symbolic
of the Power of Electricity. The figure, a huge
statue of a nude female, weighs several tons
and is cast of bronze. The building is the home
office of the Alabama Power Company, whose
vast interests spread throughout the entire South.
Considered to be one of the three most beauti-
ful public utility buildings in the world.
