Built in 1857 by Breese & Kneeland, their No. 73,
for the Milwaukee & Prairie du Chien Railroad and
originally bore their road No. 40. Became property of
Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railway on the absorp-
tion of the former road by the latter, and was given
road No. 111. Purchased by the Arizona & Southeast-
ern through Busse & Norton of Chicago in 1889 and
was in continuous service of Arizona & Southeastern and
El Paso and Southwestern until 1903. Was generally
rejuvenated during June and July, 1909 and set in park
near the General Office Buildings of the Southern Pa.
cific at 419 N. Stanton St. as a reminder of Old Times.
