THE HERMITAGE IN WINTER, MT COOK NATIONAL PARK,
N.Z. From snow filled valleys, grey rock faces and purple
hues in summer, alpine white mountains with vivid blue
shadows and a blue, blue sky provides the winter visitor
with alpine grandeur not to be surpassed. Relaxing in the
warmth of the Hermitage with great beauty seen from
every window, excellent gourmet dining in the Panorama
Room has created an atmosphere now of world renown.
Rebuilt in 1958 for 68 guests, it has been enlarged to sleep
135 guests.
