NEW MEXICO STATE CAPITOL
SANTA FE, NEW MEXICO
The nation's newest state capitol has been seat
of government since 1610 under the flags of Spain,
Mexico and the United States. Santa Fe has both,
the newest and oldest capitols in the U. S. A. The
oldest is the Palace of Governors, an adobe structure,
built as a fort in 1610 on one side of the plaza.
