The "Revenge", one of Benedict Arnold's
fleet, defeated at Valcour Island by the British
under Capt. Pringle October 12th and 13th, 1776.
But three of Arnold's fleet escaped, the "Revenge",
"Enterprise" and "Trumbull". These were burned
and sunk at Ticonderoga in 1777. The hull of
the "Revenge" was raised in 1909 and is an in-
teresting relic of America's first sea fight.
