"The Rocks'' are believed to be the exact spot where the first Swedish Colonists landed in 1638 and founded New Sweden. The 25 foot monument, executed by Carl Milles, world famous sculptor, and paid for by popu- lar subscription among the Swedish people, was presented to the American people by Royal Emissary at the tercentenary celebra- tion in 1938.
