A radio is just received from the "Resolute" on de
parture from Padang this evening, reporting that the
weather was splendid, that the passengers had greatly en
joyed their visit in Sumatra, that the entertainment had,
included Native Dances and Wedding Rites, and that the
passengers are all well.
During the voyage from Rangoon there were several gay
dances on the multi-color-lighted decks and another bril
liantly successful "Resolute" Masonic Lodge Banquet.
Off the Northern Coast of Sumatra, anticipating "The
Line" by a few knots, King Neptune and His Royal
Retinue came on board and put some of the hardier pas-
sengers through his somewhat drastic equatorial initiation
ceremonies with hilarious effect on the risibilities of those
who escaped his vigilance.
Now they all, witnesses as well as initiates, have The
Freedom of the Seas as adherents of His Nautical Majesty.
