One of the 300 basic training planes at
Randolph Field, Texas, where Uncle Sam is
schooling his future pilots for the expanding
Air Corps, practices his air work at the south
Texas airdrome. After the first week of flight
training Flying Cadets spend 60 per cent of
their time flying solo, and only 40 per cent of
their time flying dual, with an instructor.
Present output of Randolph Field is 250 basic
trained pilots every five weeks. This figure
will be raised to 450 every five weeks by
spring of 1941.
