"Southern Belle," the pride of Kansas City Southern's passenger fleet, pauses briefly in Pittsburg,
Kansas, before continuing on to New Orleans. E-8 diesel unit #25 was originally built, before
modification, by EMD in 1942, and again rebuilt to E-9 rating (2250 H.P.) in June 1959.
