JOHN PENNEKAMP CORAL REEF STATE PARK
22ND NOV. WED
KEY LARGO, FLORIDA
featuring America's first undersea park, the last living coral reef
on the North American continent. Daily glass bottom, snorkeling
and scuba diving tours are conducted from the park
headquarters on Key Largo. This 100 square mile living coral
reef was named after John D. Pennekamp, a Miami newspaper
Hi! It's beautiful & we just got back from the glass
bottom boat tour. It was really pant sistic (literally)!
There are fish un profusion, many many types, & all
coral. Lome of the fish were familiar from
tropical fish stores out to see them in schools, eating
algae off the bottom of the pan-like corals & just generally
swimming around was something else! We are camped
here for at least the next couple of days - Self us planning
to take a snorkeling tour (I don't think my swimming is
good enough) & we want to take a cance the through the w
weather
we are
by!
puperb- hot & punny with an ocean breeze. The "pre-sun" is
once sigain proving it's worth as neither of us are buying
yet (touch wood!). Disney World (day before yesterday) seriously
lived up to cexpectations. The crowds were in trouble, we
opened (Gram) & closed (almost) (7:30pm) the place, used all our
pide poupons plus a few extra! Jeff was most impressed.
I think I was even more enchanted this time round-the
drive from there to here was intimidating an its pouthern leg. Thes
hotels and motels rise 20-30 stones in a continuous lire, It was t
one small place. Three saloons just walke up!!! wow proad daylig
almost frightening to think of all those people swarming to this
