Old Faithful Geyser, most celebrated of all Yellowstone
geysers, usually erupts at intervals of slightly more than 66 min-
utes. Occasional eruptions vary considerably from this average-
the extremes noted in its intervals being 38 and 91 minutes. The
height attained by the water column, being influenced largely by
the force of the wind, varies from 116 to 171 feet but probably
averages 150 feet.
