Between 1:38th and 140th Streets at Amster-
dam Avenue is located the most artistic and
imposing building in the City. This building
was founded in 1847, the total cost of which
was $4,000,000. It is supported by the City at
an annual cost of $615,000. The new Stadium,
which was built at a cost of $100,000, was
made possible through the donation of Adolph
Lewisohn, a millionaire philanthropist.
