| Dog River is a local name given to the Escatawpa River. It rises in Wash. Co., Ala., and runs nearly south, passing into the State of Mississippi. It enters the Pascagoula River six miles from its mouth. These placid streams, with picturesque surroundings, abound in the south; some are scarcely, if at all, navigable. |
