Palm Springs, California and Mt. San Jacinto, Showing the Route of the Proposed Aerial Tramway
9B-H648
Back:
The proposed aerial Tramway up Mt. San
Jacinto will, when complete, be the second
one to be built in the United States, the first
being at Cannon Mountain, Franconia, N. H.
The Mt. San Jacinto Tramway will be more
than twice as long, and will rise in that
length to three times the elevation, ascending
6,000 feet in the 12,800 feet of length.
The towers will be 60 to 280 feet in height,
and the cables 21/4 inches in diameter. The
Tramway will, when complete, open up a
wilderness area for sightseeing and winter
sports, which has been little known to the
general public.
