HAWK'S BILL is on the west shore of the
river about one and one-half miles down stream
from Kilbourn. It surmounts the most imposing
cliff in the Lower Dells, and resembles the open
beak of a monstrous bird. Commanding, as it
does, a wide view of river and surrounding
country, this cliff was a signal peak for the
Indians in the old days.
