Boulder City, Nevada
This western town is located on the shore of Lake
Mead, a short distance from Hoover Dam. Here may
be seen antique trains that once puffed its way over
the western mountains and sped across the desert
waste lands. Today Burro Trains and pack horses
wind their way over the near-by hills. A train ride
takes one along the shore of Lake Mead with its
550 mile long shore line and extends 115 miles up
the canyons of the Colorado. Construction of Hoover
(called Boulder at this time because it was to be
built in Boulder Canyon) started in 1930 and was
completed in 1936. . . M.P.
