By far the largest of the six Highland
Lakes of Texas is Buchanan Lake. The mas-
sive Buchanan Dam is one of the largest of
its kind in the world and impounds a lake
32 miles long, 8 miles wide and 131 feet deep.
On the shoreline are numerous accommoda-
tions for the fisherman. LCRA's beautiful
Observation Building at the dam, has rest-
rooms and a coffee shop.
