The largest Suspension Bridge under construction in the world, connecting Philadelphia, Pa., and Camden, N. J., with a single span of 1750 feet long center to center of Main Piers, with a clearance above High Water of 135 feet over a width of 800 feet in center of span. The Main Structure is to be of a 2 cable suspension type, carrying a roadway for 6 lines of vehicles, 2 lines of surface cars, 2 lines for rapid transit and 2 ten foot sidewalks above the roadway. The estimated coast to be above $29,000,000 and to be completed in 1926 in time for the Sesqui Centennial to be hold in Philadelphia during that year. |
