(Part of corn dance ceremony) The dancers are all dressed in gala attire, those in the left and front of the picture are the fun makers. The dancing is a accompanied by drum of tom tom and singing of their tribal songs. These Indians have a number of ceremonial dances during the year of which this is the principal one. They start dancing about 11 a. m. and continue through the afternoon of August 4 of each year. |
