WHITE BELUGA WHALES playfully swim in and out of the
mouth of the Kenai River near Kenai from April through
November. These whales weigh up to 2500 pounds and
range from 12 to 18 feet long, and can be seen often in large
numbers as they surface.
KENAL PACKERS COMMERCIAL SALMON CANNERY
located near the mouth of the Kenai River. This cannery has
been in operation since 1945 commercially canning red
salmon, processing herring roe and often freezing salmon
to be shipped to other states and foreign countries.
