Highway #119 through Clear Creek Cañon
is a later and a valley route to Central City
and Black Hawk as distinguished from Vir-
ginia Cañon road which climbed over the
towering hills. This later route is picturesque
in the extreme; several tunnels are necessary
in less than a mile and it is overhung with
sheer and towering cliffs of solid rock.
