Tonopah's rich mining history and tradition come to life annu-
ally with the JIM BUTLER DAYS CELEBRATION. Held over
Memorial Day weekend, it mixes past and present. There are
contests and events that provide something for everyone. A
parade, state championship single and double jack drilling,
junior and senior mucking, a black powder shoot, arm wres-
tling, 4 dances, arts and crafts show, horseshoes on the spot,
mock shootouts and a 6.2 mile summit run. Getting caught
without a button or garter is sure to land you in the Kangaroo
court.
