General Palmer, after the close of the Civil War, was engaged as a Civil Engineer for the Kansas Pacific and came to the place where he later founded Colorado Springs. He was impressed with the Possibilities of the region and especially the mineral springs, visited by the Indians long before the white man came. This mineral water is shipped to all parts of the country. Many wonderful cures are reported form the use of the ratio - active mineral water.
