CULP'S HILL AND STEVEN'S KNOLL. Culp's Hill formed the Federal
right. It was here that the Confederates made their only success of the
second day's fight, driving the Federals from their position and occupying
their breast works, only to be themselves driven out on the morning of the
third day. From Steven's Knoll a terrific enfilading fire was poured upon
the Confederates in their assault upon East Cemetery Hill on the evening
of the second
