BIG ROUND TOP. This view of Round Top was made from West
Confederate Avenue, which was the first Telford road constructed by the
Government. Round Top rises to the south of Little Round Top which it
overlooks. Although higher, it was of less importance in the battle than the
smaller hill. Law's Alabama Brigade of the 2nd Confederate Corps moved
along the northern slope to advance on Little Round Top.
