RAMONA PAGEANT "Ramona," California's greatest
outdoor play, is staged each April and May, by the
people of Hemet and San Jacinto, in the hills at famed
Ramona Bowl. This Pageant has traveled far since 1300
strong-legged patrons climbed the virgin hills in 1923
and sat on rocks to see the first "Ramona." Now thou-
sands trek annually from all parts of the world to experi-
ence this dramatic and soul-stirring epic of early Cali-
fornia and relive the tragic story of Ramona and her
Indian lover, Alessandro.
