THE OLD CITY HALL AND FIRE BELL TOWER
SHANIKO, OREGON
The old city hall served three purposes in the
old days. The front of the first story was the
fire station that housed the man powered fire
hose cart. The back of the first story was the
old jail with three cells used for keeping the
unruly under control. The upper story was the
official meeting place in the old days.
The Fire Bell Tower still serves its purpose to
alert the town of any fires.
