THE COLORADO RIVER, that looks like a
silver thread from the rim of Grand Canyon,
is really one of the great waterways of this
continent. It is one of the two principal Western
tributaries and drains over 150,000 square miles
of territory. It rises in Utah at the junction
of the Grand and Green Rivers, and flows for
hundreds of miles through canyon walls.
