Alfalfa is regarded as the best all-around forage

Twelve Dollars per ton. Once established, a
field of alfalfa will last for years, as it is a plant
which thrives by cutting. The acreage in Kan-
sas has increased from 163,000 acres in 1893 to
1,500,000 acres in 1909.
