KITT PEAK NATIONAL OBSERVATORY
The Mexican Mosaic Design on the front of
the Astronomical Museum contains designs
taken from ancient Mayan interpretations of
astronomy. The lower central design is the
outline of one of the oldest astronomical
observatories in the New World, the Caracol
at Chichen Itza in Yucatan, Mexico.
