Front of the massive WILLIAM S. HART Horseshoe
Ranch at Newhall, Calif., where the famous star
of early western movies lived among 300 acres
of western hills. Inside are Hart's collection of
western paintings, historical weapons, Indian
materials, and mementos of the theater. The ranch
is open to the public as a facility of the Los
Angeles County Department of Parks and Recrea-
tion.
