The track follows the Old Santa Fe Trail over
the Raton Mountains, and many glimpses of the
Trail may be had as the train winds around and
over the pass. When the railroad was first built
it climbed over the top of the mountain, but
now leaves the Trail near the top and goes.
through a tunnel. The tunnel lies in New Mexi-
co. A boundary post between Colorado and
New Mexico will be noticed about fifty feet from
the entrance.
