POINT LOMA
Built by the United States government and
officially lighted by its first keeper, Captain
James Keating, at Sunset, November 15, 1855.
This tower was partly constructed of adobe
brick and tile taken from Old Fort Guijarros.
This light served until 1891, when the tower
light was put into commission.
