Over 100 years old, this house was erected to serve as a refuge for Napoleon Bonaparte. Under the leadership of Nicholas Girod, an expedition was organized to rescue Napoleon from St. Helena and bring him to New Orleans, but these plans were upset by his death. Another house two doors down also has the backing of local historians in having been erected as a refuge for Napoleon
