Macon is the County Seat of Bibb County.
It serves a trade territory of over 1,000,000
people. Here is the center of the famous Geor-
gia peach belt and is surrounded by approxi-
mately seven million peach trees. Macon's foun-
ders showed unusual foresight in laying out the
city's downtown plan, which exists today as a
fine example of controlled traffic.
