AUCKLAND HARBOUR BRIDGE AND WESTHAVEN BOAT
HARBOUR. Auckland's occasional easterly blows necessitate man
made shelter for the thousands of pleasure craft moored along the
Southern Shore of its harbour. Westhaven, here shown from the
overhead ramp to Shelly Beach Road, provides that service for the
western suburbs. It is at the southern approach to the harbour bridge
and so very handy to the city. North Shore is across the water and
Rangitoto in the distance.
