BRONSON'S PUBLIC LIBRARY. This institution was
founded on a bequest of $200,000 by Silas Bronson, who
died in 1867; the building, in the Italian Kenaissance style
of architecture, cost $60,000, and is in reality two buildings,
the front for administrative and public purposes, the rear for
general library uses. The main building has a handsome
porch combined with a portecochere, and the stack rooms
contain over 65,000 volumes.
