GATEWAY TO PIKE'S PEAK AUTO HIGHWAY
The Pike's Peak Auto Highway is the world's
highest auto highway, reaching the summit of
Pike's Peak, 14,109 feet above the sea. It is a
double track boulevard 18 miles long and from
twenty to fifty feet wide all the way. Smooth and
even as a pavement. A motor trip over this won-
derful highway affords a view of over 50,000
square miles of mountain and plain an area
greater than the State of Illinois, with a down-
ward vision into an abyss half a mile greater than
the Grand Canyon of Arizona.
